About Our Socialization Dog Training

Socialization with dogs, humans, and other animals is a great way to ensure a well-mannered and confident dog. The best time to socialize is between 10-16 weeks of age, but not all dogs get to experience socialization as a puppy. A lot of rescue dogs enter their new homes without proper socialization, which can put stress on both the dog and the owner.

Below are signs that your dog may need extra socialization:

  • Fearful around people or other animals
  • Nervous when out on walks
  • Shy or overly excited around people or other dogs
  • Aggressive towards other dogs
  • Tail tucked between the legs

A dog with improper socialization runs the risk of becoming fearful or aggressive. Contact us today to see how we can help!

We adopted a doodle and almost couldn’t keep him—the experts at Sit Means Sit worked with us and with him to train ALL of us. Still high spirited, he now is a “good boy” and is an integral part of our family—don’t know what we’d do without him! The trainers are so skilled, professional and so patient—it made all the difference for our family! After the week of training, we used the group sessions for several months—excellent reinforcement.

Our sweet Sage is almost 4 years old and Sit Means Sit has changed her life- and ours too! Sage has a lot of anxiety, which has significantly impacted her health in the past. She excelled at the Sit Means Sit Board and Train for two weeks. We even had a home visit with Colby which was amazingly helpful! Since the training, our family can effectively communicate with Sage, which lessens her anxiety. She is happier and calmer than ever before. We can now bring Sage for walks that are enjoyable for her & us. She rides in the car like a champ, and kindly welcomes people into our home. This training has been a game changer for all of us! Thank you Colby, Drew & Kaitlyn (and all the staff and trainers)!!
